Peter says: I was trying to think of a really intuitive analogue style time telling method that could be easily made using an LCD display. I have played around on previous designs with rings that describe the hours (orbital decay) and others that use dots to highlight the analogue positions on a watch face (Tri-Ripple) so I decided to combine both of these elements.

Chainmaille watch from medieval times

Mark says: Medieval times being one of my interests, I started a chainmaille project which led me to start replicating different chainmaille weaves in blender for fun. In doing so I messed about with trying to come up with digits and 4-1 came into being.

Tricircle LCD watch (update)

Peter says: This is an LCD version of Tricircle. I wanted to improve the feasibilty of manufacture of this design by using technology familiar to Tokyoflash. This version uses a Mirror LCD like 3D Unlimited in conjuction with a Lens (3D) in the shape of the rings used in the original analogue version. Tricircle watch runs rings around time.

Peter says: I was visiting the gym and noticed various posters promoting the 2012 olympic games. The main image associated with the olympics are the olympic rings, a set of interlinked coloured rings. I started thinking that it would be nice to use interlinked rings to tell the time. The result looks similar to the trinity symbol.
